The JackTrip Virtual Studio connects musicians in real time using home internet connections, within 600 miles, total system typical latency averages about ±12ms, well below the detectable 30ms threshold. These devices fit in the palm of your hand, include all the software you need, and are managed using your favorite web browser.

This technology utilizes the latest breakthroughs in cloud-based computing to transmit uncompressed, CD quality (48kHz, lossless) audio at ultra-low latency, thus giving everyone in the rehearsal an audio experience that mirrors being in the same room.  If your internet connection can handle it, you can even use HD quality audio (96kHz) for the best possible sound.

Already have a USB audio device?  The JackTrip DIGITAL BRIDGE enables you to use your favorite digital audio device with the Virtual Studio.  Just connect the bridge to your internet router and your favorite USB microphone, amp, instrument, or audio interface, and you’re up and running!

The Virtual Studio supports all varieties of musical engagement, from duets to full orchestras and everything in between. It was originally developed for a chorus of about 250 members, and is currently being evaluated by Larry and his production crew using audio interfaces/mixers in conjunction with JackTrip.

When it comes to scale, we haven’t found anything that even comes close. JackTrip is rapidly expanding out to all geographical regions that are supported by the major cloud computing providers.
